Why does America even need a Golden Dome? When was the last time the US was attacked? Where did the attack come from?
The Golden Dome would offer no defence against an attack like 911.
The greatest threat to American lives is probably the lack of affordable health care.

I think it is more like discovering your girlfriend/ boyfriend is a dangerous nutcase and realising it is time to give up on that one and find another.
I think many are learning that the Trump regime has no respect for freedom of speech, the rule of law and constitutional rights. The White House has no respect for the American values that in the past earned the respect of much of the world.
If Japanese universities have enough staff to teach courses in English, this is an excellent idea. I am assuming that those who want to study in the US are capable of understand English and imagine few are capable of studying in Japanese.

In Japan there are now raccoons. They were imported as pets as a response to a TV series, Rascal, which was about a raccoon that became a family pet. In the end it got too big and was happily released in the countryside. That was, at least, the happy ending on TV but far from happy in reality.
In Chiba kyon, a small Taiwanese deer, were released when the zoo at Namikawa Island. When I moved to Chiba, I never saw or heard any. Now I see some every day.
These days all the rice fields and many other farms are surrounded by electric fences.
Kyon and raccoons breed rapidly and spread rapidly as there are no natural predators.

theFu, you are assuming freedom of speech exists in the US.
It doesn't.
You can get beaten up by the police and for supporting Palestine, for criticising Israel, for criticising Zionism even though such action is not necessarily antisemitism and even if you are a Jew.
Also, think about McCarthyism. That was a long time ago. The only thing that has changed is the target.
Believe me, it will get worse.

Israel, it appears, is allowed to use gunfire to threaten and control foreign diplomats. What would Israel have done if the diplomats had ignored the warning? Was the warning just a bluff or would the IDF have shot the journalists and after claimed it was an accident as they did in the case of the shooting of Shireen Abu Akleh and others?

A foreigner driving the wrong way on an expressway is most unusual and this case could even be unique. Far more often Japanese do it and they tend to have taken the full driving test. Usually when a Japanese does it, there is a comment about road design being confusing.
Perhaps the Japanese driving test should include how to do a handbrake turn although many Japanese cars do not seem to have a proper handbrake. A handbrake turn is rather difficult when the handbrake has been replaced by a foot-operated parking brake.

Many Israelis know how to get the hostages back. There are anti-Netanyahu protests in Israel being violently broken up by the police. The protesters are Israelis including the families of hostages who realise that the way to get the hostages back is a ceasefire eading to peace, but Netanyahu and the extreme right do not want peace. They want the Gaza for themselves.
The photos of hostages who were released does not show starved and tortured hostages in stark contrast to photos of Palestinian hostages released, or should I say Palestinians released from administrative detention.
Now I will quickly press post hoping the moderator still allows comments against Israel and has not yet ended comments.

At home I have sharp knives. I wonder why sharp knives are so hard to find in other people's houses. It seems most Japanese prefer stainless knives to ones made from a softer carbon steel. As stainless is very hard, it is too hard to sharpen. Softer steel may not keep its edge for long, but it is quick and easy to sharpen.
Someone gave me a Japanese knife made by a famous brand, Global. It is great for cutting fruit as it doesn't stain. Even so, I won't use it for tomatoes as it is never sharp enough for that. It just doesn't compare with a French chef's knife I have been using for over 50 years or any of the other non-stainless knives I have.

Did they have Jewish passports or Israeli passports?
I think that answers the question. Let's consider the Occupied West Bank. Arabs, Palestinians are subject to military law, Jewish illegal settlers are not. The Israeli government is not only guilty of genocide, it is guilty of apartheid.
This action was not antisemitic. It was anti-genocide and anti-Zionist.
I am all for a boycott of Israel just as many years ago I was for a boycott of South Africa. That was at a time when Nelson Mandela and most other South Africans approved of the boycott.
As always, we do not know the full story. Is it possible the Israelis were proudly talking about what there country was doing.
And the real news is that Japan invited Israel's Foreign Minister to Japan and there was a pro-Palestinian anti-genocide protest outside the Nippon Press Center.
That is much more newsworthy than some Israeli travellers being asked to sign a declaration. Could this news have been released by the Israel's Ambassador to hide the real news? Has the Ambassador posted anything on Twitter about yesterday's demonstration?

Another problem is Japanese driving technique.
When having a driving lesson in Japan, the teacher criticised my driving on one point. He said I was driving too close to the centre line and I should drive close to the kerb, which is the opposite of what I learnt in my country.
If you are driving nearer the kerb, you are more likely to hit a car or person coming out of a driveway or side road or even just walking by the side of the road. Japanese drive far to near the edge of the road because that is what they were taught to do.

Another point I would like to make is that in the UK as a child we were taught to walk on the right side of the road as cars as in Japan drive on the left. We see the cars on our side coming towards us. We can only be hit from behind if a car is driving on the wrong side of the road. That is particularly important in Japan as there are so many utility poles which you have to walk around on narrow streets.
Alex also has a good point about bicycles not haveing rear lights. Most don't even have reflectors. Often bicycles are black and ridden by someone with black hair and black clothes.

Wallace, I am a driver and understand your point. One time I talked to a guy who uses the same station as I do. I had often seen him wearing a reflective white strap across his body. I told him that as a driver I thought that was great and sensible because it made him so easy to see at night.
He told me he wore it because he had been hit by a car once and that was why he wore it.
I remember safety slogan promoted when I was a child in the UK.

If you buy the Basmati rice from Costco, do not follow the cooking instructions. If you do the rice, will be awful. They tell you to add 2.5 to 3 cups of water to one cup of rice. You will end up with a soggy mess. I ended up with a soggy mess the first time I cooked it, and I had reduced the water-rice ration to 2:1. Now I use 1.2 cups of water and that is good for my taste.
I cannot imagine why the manufacturer tells you to destroy the rice.
Has anyone else discovered this?

"When you advocate for violence, glorify and support terrorists that relish the killing of Americans, and harass Jews, that privilege should be revoked, and you should not be in this country.”
Trump advocates violence with his support of Netanyahu and his supply of weapons and bombing of Yemen.
Netanyahu and Trump harass Jews who oppose what is happening in Gaza and the rest of Palestine and oppose Zionism.
Israel has killed Americans. Shireen Abu Akleh was American as well as Palestinian and was shot by an IDF sniper in 2022.
