The guy on the right has a very decorative uniform- the $2 shop must have had a sale on.

Does the fearless leader check their notebooks to ensure they are not just doodling?

Food in short supply but apparently, not notebooks and pens.

@ Jaswinder Sandhu 7.52pm

And what was the alternative to Hiroshima and Nagasaki? The mass slaughter on both sides if the U.S. were forced to invade the mainland? The writing was on the wall early days that the conflict would not end well for Japan. Blind faith kept believing the opposite.

So, to clarify- Russia does not want Ukraine to fire missiles into Russia but it is ok if they fire missiles into Ukraine, predoninantly into civilian areas & infrastructure.

Maybe the trio of liars, Putin, Medvedev and Lavrov could try and explain that to us mere mortals.

Police officer apprenhended by victim of crime - makes a refreshing change.

Obviously had a stressful day at the office, (the local precinct Izakaya) and needed to brush up on his javelin (bike) throwing, assault and sprinting skills.

Failed to achieve a pass mark in any of the disciplines.

Posted in: Suzuki, Michishita win marathon bronze; Japan finishes with 41 medals See in context

There are times when the rigidity of rules defies rational thinking.

The article fails to explain the circumstances surrounding the winning of the bronze medal.

The original 3rd placegetter was disqualified for releasing the rope to her helper who suffered a medical condition. They were two metres from the finishing line and 3 minutes ahead of the Japanese pair.

Where is the justice, or even common sense in that decision?
