You imply Japan caused the escalation. You use childish words like ‘whining’. Sounds like a spokesperson of the CCP. A foreign military aircraft entered Japan airspace illegally. Maybe it was the ineptitude of the crew or more likely a planned antagonizing incursion. Either way Japan has every right to protest. The free world is watching the belligerence of an overconfident dictatorship.

You can still apply and keep the passport of the other country, just don't ever use it entering Japan, just use your Japan passport at all times when in country. The other country that allows dual nationality/passport will recognise both. Basically there is no checking system in Japan so long as you don't ever show or use the other passport in Japan. But yes it's a silly rule and I wish her good luck as she represents a lot of people.

just wear mine indoors now, mainly as a token gesture on entering a restaurant then it’s straight off with the first drink. Outside I never wear it now unless it’s really crowded. I live in Shizuoka and I’d say about 1 in 50 don’t wear outside, it’s bonkers and completely pointless. As I’m a foreigner of course I feel people judge but I simply don’t care anymore. I followed all the rules strictly and now it’s all over and I’ve had enough, it feels weird now, especially the isolationism without any science to back it up. (When I say I’m a foreigner I’m a resident and pay my taxes to the govmnt and have as much a right to choose this now, just feel I have to say that as it is Japan) Basically there is no need to be afraid anymore.
