Tritium is known to be less harmful to human health than other radioactive materials such as cesium and strontium as it emits very weak radiation and does not accumulate in the body, experts say.
Less harmful is not synonymous with being safe .
Tritium indeed emits radiation so all these word play is sounding more and more like the work of scammers..

@Hiro, on the face of it, yours is a good idea. But, Americans eat more beef, cholesterol-laden hot dogs, fried foods and McDonald's burgers than they do fish. Can't change that with a suggestion they eat healthier foods, even if they know nothing about the Fukushima seafood debate.
Well there are the wealthy Hollywood celebrities, health conscious yogis and the people of Alaska that would salivate upon hearing the word safe and yummy Fukushima seafoods.

Dumping radioactive wastes into the Pacific Ocean daily for 30 long years is a very abusive and almost criminal act.
Of course Tokyo and TEPCO said it's safe but the problem is those are just mere spoken empty words that can prove nothing after 30 years.
Besides, the Pacific Ocean doesn't even belong to Nippon.
"Director of the Kewalo Marine Laboratory at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Robert Richmond, said Japan’s decision to release that water is disappointing, but not surprising. “This action will be to the detriment of future generations who will likely suffer the consequences of decisions that are made based on expediency, politics, and profit above people."

TEPCO must stop this rape of the worlds pearl oceans.
Releasing radioactive wastes in the oceans for a very long 30 years is an abuse that borders on environmental poisoning.
This is a crime against all humanity.
Japan must listen to marine biologists and stop what they are doin because the Pacific Ocean doesn't belong to Tokyo.
"The US National Association of Marine Laboratories released a statement in December 2022 saying it was not convinced by Japan's data.
And marine biologist Robert Richmond, from the University of Hawaii, told the BBC: "We've seen an inadequate radiological, ecological impact assessment that makes us very concerned that Japan would not only be unable to detect what's getting into the water, sediment and organisms, but if it does, there is no recourse to remove it... there's no way to get the genie back in the bottle."

Japan is acting like they own the worlds pearl oceans.
They are throwing their radioactive wastes to the Pacific Ocean DAILY for a very long 30 years.
Imagine 30 years!
What will happen to the health of the children born today after 30 years of exposure?
Japan said it's safe but many scientists have doubts.
And rightly so!
Those responsible for this rape of the worlds pearl oceans would then be long gone .
Who will pay for their crimes?

"American professor Emily Hammond, an expert in energy and environmental law with George Washington University, said: "The challenge with radionuclides (such as tritium) is that they present a question that science cannot fully answer; that is, at very low levels of exposure, what can be counted as 'safe'? "
"One can have a lot of faith in the IAEA's work while still recognising that compliance with standards does not mean that there are 'zero' environmental or human consequences attributed to the decision."

Environmental groups such as Greenpeace go further, referring to a paper published by scientists at the University of South Carolina in April 2023.
Shaun Burnie, a senior nuclear specialist with Greenpeace East Asia, says tritium can have "direct negative effects" on plants and animals if ingested, including "reduced fertility" and "damage to cell structures, including DNA".
