Proof of citizenship?! That's a tough bar. I've got my passport, but most people do not have that document. What will they have to show?

LA is sport heaven. I volunteered at the '84 Olympics, which were splendid - maybe the most successful ever (they turned a profit). I'm sure '28 will be equally successful.

You guessed wrong. Japan doesn’t allow dual citizenship to people over 18, so not possible that he holds both Japan and US passports.
It's a "don't ask, don't tell" situation. My two children, both in their late 20s, hold dual citizenship, and the last thing Japan wants is to lose them.

The LA '84 Olympics made a profit. '28 will likely be the same. The federal government can just butt out.

It was pretty obvious that this would happen. Pretty much the only thing China imports from the US is agricultural products. It's a huge market, but China has other sources such as Australia and India. Not to say that it won't have an impact, but China can punch pack. Whether that is wise is a different story.
