I don’t care about this. I’m not involved in any of these types of activities but I will say either prostitution is legal or it’s not.
Some of the other comments hint that a ring for foreigners is getting more attention than the others and if that is the case, it’s unfair.
I will also note that as far as crime, there seems to be the attitude that when foreigners do something it’s worse than when Japanese people do it.
Is the point supposed to be that only Japanese men can patronize ladies of the evening?

“Death penalty for drug smugglers”.
If the death penalty stopped people from doing things, there would be no crime. Has anyone considered making the pay for honest work enough to live a comfortable life?

These anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim comments are expected but I really don’t understand.
When Japanese people are loud or drunk In public, no one suggests there is something inherently wrong with them or that they shouldn’t be in Japan.
Japanese people are capable of, and do some of the same things I’ve read in this article.
Asking why Kurds can’t “behave” themselves when not all Japanese people behave themselves is strange to me. Is the message supposed to be “Japanese people can do anything they want in Japan”?

..... apparently had financial troubles with the couple, Toshiaki Watarai and his wife Reiko, who previously ran a real estate business, investigative sources said.
That’s not really enough information. Does he owe them money? Did they owe him money? What was going on?

“So what do you suggest social services do? Go house to house checking on each elderly couple every day?”
Yes, actually. Yes.
Exactly that.
It’s a thing called in-home hospice care.
Have you heard of it?

The weather has been pleasant. Only turned on the air con in one bedroom three times this summer. My place is breezy.
What?! Where do you live, Antarctica?

Nonsense. What does ac have to do with the transmission of a virus? Is a sick person standing on the other side, breathing into the machine?
Ridiculous.
What’s causing the increased transmission is the insistence of people, like the commenter above me, of trying to go bAcK to nOrmAl and be outside, coughing and sneezing with no mask on.
