And now we see what happens when nature starts getting her own back on humans after so many years of encroachment and destruction of natural habitat.
Not the case here. Rural regions like Tohoku and Hokkaido have been experiencing population decline for decades. With less people there's less development and encroachment.
This has helped the bear population to increase. The result of years of inaction by local and federal governments to properly address the situation. They haven't done enough to control bear the population and this is the result.

i keep hearing this axiom about multipurpose combat jets weaknesses and I think it applies to earlier attempts. Correct me if I’m wrong but the F-16 and F-18 are both multipurpose jets that have been very successful and also relatively cost efficient. They’re still in service today almost 40yrs since entering service. This is one Navy pilot I talked to said he thinks the F-16 is the best for all it’s capabilities, design, and low/cheap maintenance.

Look at what happens to wild bears in Alaska that encroach on populated areas. Same thing. Nothing remotely unique to Japan.
Alaska has Brown (Grizzly), Kodiak, and Black bears. The Brown and Kodiak are much larger and aggressive than Black bears. They are capable of and have eaten people before. This Black bear was only 1 meter long. Relatively small even for a Black bear. That's not to say that Japanese Black bears aren't dangerous. They are but comparing this situation to Alaska isn't analogous.

Although the F-35 is impressive, IMO it lacks the speed to be used as an interceptor.
In SEAD and deep strike missions, it would definitely be useful, but it’s top speed of Mach 1.2 puts it at a disadvantage to the F-15 or Su-27 which can both fly at Mach 2.5.
With Misawa and Chitose’s proximity to Russia, every second counts when intercepting a bogey, and speed is more important than stealth.
Peter14Today 04:22 pm JST
Agree the F-35 with only one engine is much too slow. It is not designed for interdiction or air superiority. But its top speed is actually mach 1.62
A pity they couldn't produce new F-111 with modern avionics. They called it "the pig" as it could be difficulty to handle but it had speed and punch. A fantastic aircraft for its time.
If top speed was still a priority for all combat jets, you can bet the designers would've made all of them capable of +Mach2. It simply isn't as much of a critical factor as it used to be. In many studies, most pilots never actually needed to go over +Mach2. With improving long range BVR air to air missiles whose range continues to expand, you don't need to use speed to get so close to targets. The missiles do more work now and are faster.
The F-35 is multipurpose fighter designed for many roles including interdiction and intercept if need be but if high speed is deemed a mission priority, then the F-22 and F-15EX are both capable of +Mach2. Many current fighter planes aren't capable of +Mach2 but that doesn't reduce their effectiveness. Where the F-35 is unique is sheer computing power, stealth, data management, and communication. And it still looks sexy as hell.

There is absolutely no proof that these guitars are made in China. Now they could be made in South Korea which I suspect, but China, no.
The guitars, the site notes, are "manufactured by multiple providers and include parts/features that are both domestic and international."
Korea, China, Mexico, etc. Doesn't make a difference. Based on MAGA these guitars should be 100% made in the USA but they're clearly not. Oh the irony. LOL!

Hard pass on going to a Communist regime that suppresses its own citizens, not to mention foreign dignitaries. If they'll arrest even diplomats, why do you think they wouldn't arrest the everyday tourist on bogus charges?
More importantly, the Chinese people see nothing wrong with what the government is doing and actually support it. Nowadays, they will snitch on you if you say anything negative about their government. Tourists don't want to be jailed and interrogated for expressing their opinion. Never was like that when it was actually Hong Kong and not mainland China. Add the lingering effects of Covid originating from China and it's not surprising that people aren't going there.

What admin backlog? Why would there be such an admin backlog in a country where crime is so low? Lousy excuse that makes no sense.*
No need to openly display your lack of knowledge and experience with legal matters. Japan has plenty of crime. There just aren't as many violent and large scale relative to other countries. Go to any democratic nation, commit a major crime and demand an immediate court date. See how far that gets you.
You're the one that always claims Japan is so safe compared to others because there's little crime. Now you claim there's plenty of crime just to suit your logically flawed premise that it's due to admin backlog.*
In Canada the average time is 160 days. In the US, 256 days for felony cases and 193 days for misdemeanor cases. And Canada and the US has far more crime than the Japan. Two years for this woman in Japan s over 730 days.*

*I have NEVER stated that. Ever.*
I have stated that there are less violent crimes and on smaller scales than some other countries because of the strict weapons controls in Japan. Which anyone with any common sense already knows. Please don't make up complete fabrications, your credibility is at stake.
My credibility? My credibility is in no way at stake with your being involved. Do you really care about your credibility on this site.
But let's stick to the facts. it's unacceptable for a variety of reasons for someone to be incarcerated for 2 years awaiting trial. It's a joke but you being a nationalist and not a patriot, means you have to defend Japan to the death even when it's painfully obvious that something is unacceptable and a waste of resources and money. Lot's of nationalists still around which means, past mistakes can easily be repeated.

Cool, so a handful of legislators and a few business reps have made a “decision” for an entire community, and we’re supposed to believe this represents the will of all taxpaying residents, were that point even a relevant one.
*Well, thank you Miles for pointing out that this wasn’t even a community-wide choice, just the usual suspects in government and their handpicked insiders calling the shots. Isn’t it convenient how “the people” are always represented by a tiny group with their own agendas? Real democracy would mean asking the residents of Shibuya and the people who stimulate its economy what they want instead of letting a small committee of pen-pushers speak for everyone.*
But sure, keep believing that a handful of officials and business interests somehow represent the spirit of the entire community.
The mayor and his administration were reelected. The businesses and residents support their decision. If they didn't and if there was such an uproar, they wouldn't have been. Show me a group of residents and businesses who have publicly opposed the decision to stop the Halloween fiasco.

Your house analogy is all wrong because a ward is not a house. Their house is their house and they can enforce whatever policies they like in their house. Not so for a public place in a country that upholds basic freedoms of movement and assembly.
They can cancel an official event if they want but they can't dictate rights of movement and assembly with police enforcers and hecklers.
Don't know why you're so passionate about restricting freedoms.
You have the freedom to gather in your area, another ward, or go to a private establishment for a party. You have lot's of freedom but here you are focusing on one ward because you're one of those self entitled who doesn't live there, pay taxes, nor vote yet insist you should have the right. You're not rambling about freedom but selfish self entitlement.

Yes it is, as easily proved as they are going to do it without anybody expecting the will of visitors to be imposed onto them because of a terrible misunderstood of what means "freedoms".
Ah, the classic - twisting freedom to justify government overreach. So, your idea of freedom is what, exactly? Letting bureaucrats cancel public events and celebrations whenever they feel like it, without anyone daring to question it?
And as for “imposing the will of visitors,” please. Local economies thrive on tourism, community events, and the vibrancy that celebrations bring.
But hey, if you’re content with empty streets and a lackluster community, just keep cheering on the government for taking away anything remotely enjoyable “for your own good.”

The businesses and residents in Shibuya Ward pay taxes then vote for the their ward's leaders. If they wanted all these things happening, they wouldn't have voted for them. If you don't live there and pay taxes, you're not entitled to anything. Go gather where you live. You have that freedom.

trumps popularity has hardly improved but the democrats are on the nose for a lot of people.
4 years wasted with hardly anything to show for it is why they lost.
SNL hasn't been funny in ages
True. SNL has been trash for decades. It's just not funny anymore.
In those four years, their strategy was to double-down and continue to move further left focusing on things like LGBT issues and forced diversity instead of addressing areas such as immigration and the economy. They lost a lot of rational-minded, centrist/moderate voters from both Democrats and Republicans who no longer connect with the extreme left or right. Add in Biden withdrawing too late and that Kamala is a woman (not entirely for misogynistic reasons) and that sealed the deal.
