If it's not mainland Chinese stomping on Japanese flags and business owners bragging about beating up Japanese people, it's these cyber punks that are trying to destabilize Japan through hacking.

As if Japanese citizens never went around flaunting their wealth in the 90s, buying up foreign property, booking all the cruises. They used to walk into my yard as a kid and take pictures of everything. It was a stereotype for a while, the Japanese rich tourist with the huge expensive camera around his neck. Oh what, we're not supposed to be here? Sorry we don't speak english!

Classic red herring comment by the anti Japan crowd. What does what Japanese tourists supposedly did in the 90's and buying up real estate in Western countries have anything to do whatsoever with this topic.

This is about foreigners misbehaving and ignoring rules in Japan just so they can get that perfect photo op. Nothing whatsoever to do with Japanese behavior in other countries, and it's typical mentality of this anti J crowd that Japanese people are not allowed to be upset at anyone acting badly in Japan, due to some Japanese people behaving badly abroad. Some 'logic' there.

And hypocritical since these people would get outraged if foreigners behaved badly in their native countries. In that case they aren't going to sympathize with the foreigners and demand that the local businesses build new structures and do everything they can to accommodate them. So ludicrous

As I always say, it's not surprising we are seeing more of these types of incidents in Japan.

Disgusting, and it speaks volumes the anti Japan nationalists never said anything about Japanese women and children being killed. It's even more insulting when Chinese tourists and immigrants to Japan are under no threat whatsoever by random Japanese citizens, nor have to witness scenes like Chinese flags being burned or stomped on. Little wonder so many around the world have such low opinions of the country and its people.

Won't change a thing, especially since some foreigners who seek that sort of thing in Japan aren't exactly known for their modesty. But I do hope they crack down on the unregulated street trade.

Why they keep fixating on this is beyond me. Japan is way too overcrowded as it is, being packed into trains like sardines is not sustainable. Trimming the population is not a bad thing at all.

You gotta love the shameless hypocrisy of one of the world's worst environmental polluters lecturing Japan on releasing safely treated radioactive waste water. Whatever it takes to keep the anti Japanese hysteria alive.

Years ago, articles like this would have had majority, if not all, of comments harshly criticizing Japan for being so 'racist' and 'xenophobic' and not allowing in more foreigners into the country to live and work.

And now there are multiple comments pointing out the dangers of mass immigration, pointing out the nightmare that's happening across multiple European countries, and actually sympathizing with Japan protecting its borders and cultures.

Reading most of the comments, I am not surprised at the usual folks getting in their potshots at Japan. These people never take the side of Japan in anything. Tourists behaving badly is a very serious concern not only in Japan, but around the world. I guarantee you some of these same people mocking Japanese here would then be angrily demanding action if tourists in their native countries did the same thing. I've seen videos of this area and you see tourists from certain asian countries ignore all safety rules and cross back and forth across the street wherever they want, and then feign ignorance when local workers tell them to use proper crosswalks.

It is no surprise that these kinds of random, shockingly violent crimes seem to happening more frequently the passing years. Something has broken down in Japanese society and it is getting worse.

Good for them, allowing this sort of free political expression is always welcomed in Japan.

It's not just Japan, but a worldwide phenomenon where youth are getting more emboldened to commit crimes like these.

Seeing such a large percentage of respondents citing Fukushima water release shows their utter ignorance. China dumps more radioactive waste into oceans in a year than treated Fukushima water released in a decade. Not to mention China's horrible international reputation of destroying fishing waters among other environmental disasters.

Not surprised some are lowkey condoning what he did, solely due to his nationality and what he vandalized.

While the act is delinquent and illegal, it is necessary to keep it in proportion to other more serious crimes esp those of violence.

A marker pen scribble of kanji characters by a youth is not the end of the world.

That this case should be pursued overseas would be a needless waste of time, effort and money.

I'm sure you would not feel the same way if some random Japanese tourist scribbled kanji characters on the Lincoln Memorial, or the World War 2 memorial.

I am struck at how gracious Biden and Harris have been in defeat. Both have talked to and congratulated Trump on his victory.

A far, far cry from Trump's disgraceful conduct in 2020. And absolutely guaranteed Trump would have done the same few days ago had he lost.

I'm just disappointed Harris was the only option for the democrats this year. She avoided the limelight for most of the past 4 years, so to thrust her into that spot with no primaries was a disaster in the making.

I doubt this is needed considering there are now way too many tourists overcrowding popular sites in Japan. Now Mt. Fuji will be packed with so many tourists it's going to ruin the atmosphere and vibe.

That was such an awesome parade and celebration for the fans! I loved how the crowd roared when Shohei spoke English, and Yamamoto the definition of humility as he didn't want to be the center of attention. Congrats Dodgers, and take that haters!

Those vaunted days of people getting their wallets they left on the train back, intact, are long over. This is the new norm in Japan, unfortunately.

Congratulations to the Dodgers. And thanks to the Yankees for gifting the Dodgers this game 5 and also the World Series with their costly, costly errors which allowed the Dodgers to come roaring back to tie the game and eventually win it all. Shohei was a non-factor this series, but his teammates stepped up big time especially Freeman.

Trump and his supporters can do these silly stunts all they want, but they will lose regardless next week.

Sadly, I think his health has been in steady decline especially with the death of his long term partner this year. Typically when one person in such a long relationship passes, the other partner passes not long after.

That Japanese old men allegedly misbehave in public has zero relevance to foreigners doing dumb things in Japan. I have seen these types of videos and it makes me feel embarrassed. Foreigners using sacred structures as exercise props, foreigners recklessly dancing on trains/subways and harrassing passengers, foreigners just being plain disrespectful, ignorant, and hostile. The fact that so many of you cannot even criticize this outright shows your true colors. That some try to portray Japanese as 'racist' and 'xenophobic' for daring to be angry about things like people prancing on trains is ridiculous.

But Japan Today tends to attract this type of people that always gaslight and nitpick Japanese people. If I go to a YouTube video of foreigners acting badly in Japan, overwhelming majority of the comments are criticizing the behaviors and how shameful it is to Japanese society. Glad to see the majority have common sense.

Just a friendly reminder

if the series ends tomorrow, which it could now, Freddie Freeman, a Canadian, is your World Series MVP. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I have no idea what the above means, but some people cannot seem to contain their dislike of Shohei and his huge Japanese fan base, always raining on their parade. Yes, Shohei was a non-factor this World Series so far, but he did contribute to that comeback tie in game 1 that allowed the Dodgers to survive into the late innings. And he was magnificent the entire season, the definitive MVP of the National League. If the Dodgers win tomorrow, great on the team, Shohei, and all of his fans throughout Japan.

Freeman the MVP of this World Series. The Dodger pitching staff co-MVP, they silenced all the doubters so far.

Shohei a complete non-factor this series, but Aaron Judge was even worse. Both the respective MVP's of their league, shrunk when the light shined brightest on them.

Whether Shohei plays or not isn't going to make any difference to the Dodger's chances for the remainder of hte series. He's been pretty much a non-factor even before the injury, an atrocious .125 batting average (his counterpart Judge is even worse at .111). Thanks to his teammates Shohei is on the verge of his first World Series ring, much to the dismay of the Shohei and Dodgers dislikers (they cannot stand to see Japanese people celebrating their hero).
