The sad irony of it all, is that the wasted 45 million dollars could have gone to the veterans who served, instead of having their funding slashed by DOGE.

Saw clips of it. That was pretty pathetic. Even those in attendance, such as Marco Rubio, Kristy Noem, and even Trump himself seemed really bored and tired at moments during the parade. Lots of empty seats there. The most incredulous thing about it was that it was actually sponsored. Palantir, Coinbase, and Lockheed were among those that sponsored it. The Army shouldn't have any sponsors. There were more at the protests than at this costly event.

Ah, so for the neocons, as long as Musk did it for their side, it was okay. But now that there is a possibility that he may do it for Democrats, then it's not okay? Sounds like the basic modus operandi for Trump's mafia; do as he says; not as he does. In Trump's world, the laws only apply to others; not to him.

What is Trump's obsession with bringing back China's jobs to America. Fact is, even though he wants to bring back manufacturing and factory jobs to America, no one wants to work in them. I remember a time when parents who did work in a factory, would work hard to be able to send their kids to go to college so that they would end up getting a job not working in a factory.
Another thing is that a trade imbalance with a country doesn't mean you're getting ripped off. I mean, if the U.S. was getting ripped off, then why aren't those countries #1 in the world in terms of economy? We have a trade deficit because we have the buying power to have it. Americans, like no other nation, has the ability to spend money to create these trade deficits that we have. It should be a good thing.

According to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide Article II,
In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such:
Killing members of the group;
Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
Murders of farmers (whether they be white or black) account for less than 1% of the murders in South Africa. Yes, white farmers have been murdered, but so too have black farmers. Yet, Trump only has accepted "white" farmers. If there was any doubt to the fact that Trump is racist, there should be none anymore. Accepting a group of privileged white people, while there are numerous underprivileged groups who are actually facing what could amount to "genocide", is clearly a racist move.

And regarding Qatar, it’s vital not to conflate foreign policy concerns with constitutional violations unless supported by concrete evidence.
When Hamas launched their attack on Israel back in 2023 and then in turn Israel struck back, it was Qatar, along with Iran and Saudi Arabia which sided with Hamas in blaming Israel for the attacks. Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs held Israel “solely responsible for the ongoing escalation due to its ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, the latest of which was the repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the Israeli police.”
That was not surprising as it is well-known that Qatar protects Hamas terrorists. It also continues to have ties with Al-Qaeda.

Most of those bodies piling up are made of black Africans. The fact is that there are way more black Africans getting killed than white Africans. One substantiated white farmer dying does not make a genocide. Okay, let's be generous and say a few white farmers were killed, if that is deemed as "genocide", then the hundreds, if not thousands of black Africans getting killed would definitely be defined as "genocide".

Yes. They had been. When Trump declared that legal Haitians were eating their pets, they were targeted (and not only them, but people who can't tell the difference between a Haitian and a person whose skin color is simply brown), kids were threatened and physically harassed, bomb threats made, and as a result schools were closed, all over an unsubstantiated rumor.

So if a few Haitians were to be killed in the U.S., then can we automatically claimed that genocide is being committed against them? While only one confirmed case of a white farmer, and at most a few more cases does not constitute "genocide".
And yet, Trump wants to bring in these entitled rich farmers on our taxpayers' money into the U.S., while disregarding people who actually are escaping war-torn areas in the world who would be more than willing to work the backbreaking jobs that most Americans won't do. I feel that its those people who work for very little money, who actually do more for the economy picking crops, doing household chores, waiting and bussing in restaurants, and working in factories, helping to keep labor costs down and thus retail costs for consumers down.

According to the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution:
Article I bars anyone holding government office from accepting any present, emolument, office or title from any “King, Prince, or foreign State,” without congressional consent.
Article II deals with domestic emoluments, noting that Congress can't increase or decrease the president's compensation during his term in office, and prohibits the president from receiving any emolument from the states.
And let's be honest, the Qataris are not ones to be trusted. They have been known to house terrorists and terrorist activities. Congress needs to investigate and approve this first.

It does nothing for Americans at all. And in his first 100 days, he has played more golf than any former president. Those trips are not free. They cost us money. Or, maybe Trump just wants to do away with libraries altogether since he obviously doesn't visit them or read books.

No, never have I once mocked Mike Pence. I disagreed with many of his views, such as views that women shouldn't have reproductive rights. However, during Trump's first presidency, I did commend Pence on his deep faith and loyalty to his wife (a stark contrast with Trump). I've also agreed with Pence's views on religious liberty. Of course, you sometimes don't appreciate someone until a worse person comes to be in that position. So with Vance now being the Vice President, you appreciate the fact that Pence never said strange things, or be belligerent to allies, or make it all about him. So if equating having decency and leaving your ego at the door means going against his own party's president, then so be it.

I agree. Times have changed. I remember all of those things that you've mentioned. You left out TV dinners and kids actually bicycling outside to their friends house or the the park even when it started to get dark, drive-in movie theaters being normal, 8-track tapes, etc.
In any case, times may have changed, but human decency, respect, and treating people with dignity should not change. Unfortunately, Trump and his administration is making it a norm for people to disregard laws and fundamental rights of citizens.
No, they are labeled a RINO because and like their Socialist counterparts, party comes before the people
If someone like Pence cares about the Constitution and upholding the freedoms of the people it protects, thus putting America first, and as a result going against his own party's president, then that constitutes as putting country above party, and party above self. Trump on the other hand, puts his own ego above everything else, as evidenced by forcing people to capitulate to his wishes and threatening them if they disagree with him or doesn't kiss his ring.

I think the most telling difference between Democrats and Republicans nowadays is how they would choose people to fill out spots in their cabinet. Historically, while most posts are filled by those within their own party, there have been appointments made across party lines. They were filled with the intent on choosing qualified people, no matter which party they affiliated themselves with. Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and even Trump in his first presidency, had a number of positions filled with those across the aisle.
This time, there is only one (Ambassador to Kuwait, Amer Ghalib). These days, Trump will fill his posts with only those people who have pledged their undying loyalty to him and will praise him constantly. He doesn't care one bit for their credentials, even if their experience only amounts to being a Fox News contributor, podcaster, reality show celebrity, or a conspiracy theorist.

As much as I don't agree with some of Pence's viewpoints on certain issues, I do commend him for adhering to the laws written forth in the Constitution as well as putting country before party and self.
There was a time when the one area that Republicans and Democrats agreed was that the rules and laws written in the Constitution should be followed and that there was such a thing as due process. The majority on both sides would put country above party, even though they had differences in how to achieve their goals.
Nowadays, whenever a Republican keeps to those principles, treats people with dignity rather than use insults, and follows the rule of law, they are suddenly labeled a RINO. And thus, this is the reason for the current GOP being filled with racist, soul-selling, ego-driven people who like to push the envelope of what laws they can overstep in getting whatever they want.

This would amount to wasteful spending and totally inefficient. It is currently a tourist spot and in no condition to properly keep prisoners in. The cost to renovate it so that it will meet code will be enormous. Besides, they would have to build more infrastructure for it to expand, since the capacity was about 340 inmates. Even if you stuff it to something like 300-500% capacity, it would still be way less than larger state penitentiaries and prisons. It's just not economically feasible.

No, the problem is that ICE agents don't have the right to break your car window to get you, and not give you time to show proof of your citizenship. This is what is happening. They come to you in your car, before you can show proof, they break your car window and drag you out. Then when your lawyer comes with your proof, they just say sorry, it was a mistake, then leave you with a broken car window, all shaken and traumatized for nothing with no oversight.

Of course, it is not common for me to be carrying around my birth certificate everywhere I go to in America, so I would like to be able to have due process to retrieve such document. However, with the current administration, it doesn't seem possible to do that.

Posted in: Trump, in a new interview, says he doesn't know if he backs due process rights See in context
Not really surprised. Just listen to Trump when he talks. It always starts with him and how his numbers and popularity is. Of course, those numbers are always suspect. Take the case when Pam Bondi constantly changes the numbers of fetanyl seized at the borders. It goes up, then back down to reality, then up again. She even stated that he saved like 75% of American lives from fetanyl poisoning. Total BS.
Now when it comes to deportation numbers, he wants large numbers, so of course, he'll disregard due process in order to achieve those numbers, even though it may hurt American citizens in the process. Legal or illegal, he wants immigrants out of the country.
You can clearly see the progression. First it was the violent dangerous illegals, then it was the illegal criminals with minor crimes, then it was pretty much any illegal immigrants even though they had no criminal record, then we saw immigrants who have become citizens deported so-called 'mistakenly'. Now we're hearing of legal American citizens being so-called 'mistakenly' deported. And when they do deport those mistakenly, they just say "Oops, but sorry we can't really do anything about it". At each step it becomes the norm and thus acceptable, even though it shouldn't.

So, you're basically admitting that, like Trump, you will put your ego ahead of what is right and just.
Like the Summer riots of 2020 or destroying a police station, blowing up Tesla dealership, gunning down a a CEO of medical company, yes
Typical neocon play. Throw red herrings to confuse and deflect.
First of all, the riots you mention were due to social injustice and crimes against minorities. It had nothing to do with overthrowing the results of any election.
Secondly, protesting Tesla dealerships also has nothing to do with election results, but with the fact that an unelected civilian was able to give orders and infiltrate confidential information.
By the way, violence against Tesla is not a suddenly new thing. It's been going on for years. In fact, there are tons of videos on the net of people burning people's cars, scratching them with keys, and downright ramming them with their own cars. The ironic thing is that before, it was conservatives attacking environment loving liberals before, since they were the ones who were more likely to own electric cars at that time. So where was the outrage then?
Finally, the killing of Brian Thompson (you should at least have the dignity to mention his name), was not due to any election results. It was due to grievances against health insurance and the predatory practices of insurance companies.

They did. They made sure there were just as many conservative and Republican poll watchers and counters to match the Dems and liberals. Kind of ingenious, Trump and the GOP used the exact same tactics and rules that the Dems implemented, that’s what helped Trump win massively
That's exactly what happened when Trump lost in 2020. There was even a thorough investigation and even when it was proven beyond a doubt that Trump lost and there was no voter fraud, he still insisted he won and even instigated violent acts against the government.
Well, after all the testimonies and whistleblowers that came forward we can.
So you do agree with me then that Democrats have every right to claim voter fraud in Trump's win because there has numerous reports of Russian interference in the form of payments made to conservative influencers in order to create content friendly to their regime.
Having said that, I do admit that the effect of such, as well as any conspiracy theories pushed forth by right-wing social media influencers about the 2020 election were proven to be minimal at most. Nothing significant to prove that either election was swayed either way. I have come to the conclusion that whatever voter fraud there was in any of the three past elections may have existed, did not have any significant outcome on the results. I'm willing and mature enough to accept what happened.
What I do not accept is using violence to overthrow the results of an election. Furthermore, not holding those accountable for such actions is unacceptable.
