Here's what many people don't get to see because the media is sanewashing Trump.

At the meeting in the story, a reporter asked Trump: "Why are you giving Putin 50 more days?"

Trump: "I've just really been involved in this for not very long. It wasn't an initial focus. This is a Biden war. A Democrat war."

Really?

This isn't a war between Russia and Ukraine, it's a Democrat war?

It’s taken Trump a decade to realize Putin is not his friend.

Trump never really believed Putin "was his friend".

You don't know what Trump thinks.

Russia has a long history of using men as cannon fodder, Putin is no different.

It’s taken Trump a decade to realize Putin is not his friend.

Reportedly, Putin is seriously considering using tactical nukes in Ukraine, while Trump is ranting about destroying Moscow. In his first term, the sane ones around him had to educate Trump. Trump asked what’s the point of having nuclear weapons if he couldn’t use them.

Russia was the only country with no US tariffs on Trump’s show & tell board at the White House.

I don’t like any of this. Threatening to shut down the economy of a country is like an act of war. That’s how the Pacific War started.

I don’t like or trust Putin or Trump. They’re both unhinged people.

No one in Trump’s bubble can tell the truth, and I doubt he’s reading anything here. The same things about Japanese roads full of Mercedes, BMW’s Audi’s, VW and just a dribble of US cars for reasons everyone knows have been said over and over since before the internet.

The only change is someone using ChatGPT over and over. Brandolini’s Law still applies - it takes an order of magnitude more time and energy refuting intentional falsehoods people can spew out quickly.

One part of me says so what? It’s the customer’s choice.

The other part knows that choice can turn to brow beating and tip shaming.

It’s not as it tipping has never existed in Japan. I’ve seen people in small izakaya’s say to keep the change.

Yes, I agree with bass. See? People can agree on some things.

It doesn’t matter what political affiliation. This transcends politics. It’s no different than the complete JFK files that aren’t released either.

People are being protected by the state, and the people have a right to know the truth. This isn’t national security. It isn’t the launch codes.

No wonder so many people distrust the government. The have every reason to.

Reportedly hundreds of men, but the only person in prison is a woman.

I think people would agree that the identities of the girls must be protected.

It's hard to fathom how big the impact would be with if the most powerful men in the world are exposed with the truth. The truth could spark an uprising. And no government wants an uprising.

Trump said, in only the way he can, that tremendous money was flowing into the country because of the tariffs.

Not one reporter corrected him that the money is not coming in, it’s money from US companies to the US Treasury.

Will this sanewashing of Trump go on forever? How stupid can people be to not understand this?

It’s not about Democrats or Republicans.

It’s about all of the rich, royal, influential, well known, people of power.

It’s the cover up for the ages for them.

Reuters is usually wrong. No one actually works there as journalists, they’re all part-time stringers.

Large company bankruptcies are the highest they’ve been in 15 years. Worst job market for university graduates in 30 years. The stock market has nothing to do with the economy.

Yes, someone can have citizenship revoked if they falsify information on their application.

Permanent Resident status can be revoked for conviction of serious crimes. It’s gone to extremes now. A Canadian permanent resident of 40 years was denied re-entry after traveling to Canada for a vacation, leaving his wife and three young children alone in the US.

He had a traffic ticket. Now that’s extreme.

After stumbling through a paper given him about children being in heaven, he went on to talk about how much he’s lowered the price of eggs.

He called it a “once in a thousand year” flood. The flood in the area known as “flash flood alley.” Neither of those things made it into the story.

Conmen are smart also. Trump is smart in a scheming, thieving way.

Being smart with integrity is different.

I don’t disagree about many people not understanding things, but there are a few smart people here. I don’t agree about this being negotiating strategy. It’’s just American tatemae.

There is no compromise that will work with Trump. Japan could buy the entire US rice harvest and it wouldn’t make a difference.

New tariffs on Canada because of fentanyl? Tariffs on Brazil (that buys more from the US than it sells) because of a guy is ”treated very unfair?”

You can’t negotiate or reason with an unreasonable person.

"After having seen this horrible event, I would imagine you'd put alarms up in some form," Trump said.

Texas state officials repeatedly rejected requests from Kerr County to pay for a warning system and turned away the county’s applications at least three times between 2017 and 2024. They received $10 million from the federal government in 2021, but gave county employees raises and built a walking path instead.

More than 40% didn't want the money and wanted it returned because it came from the Biden Administration. Unbelievable.

Texas has a $24 billion surplus, but the state wouldn't spend the $1 million for the system.

People did have the foresight, but politics prevails.
