The reality is a bit different from what it looks like. See, Donald hadn’t much success to show so far on the global diplomacy front. He had a deal with Putin but it was pushed back a few days. The India Pakistan conflict looks like a balanced one but was nothing of the sort. Pakistan had been crippled and had only the nuclear card left to play as all its air bases had been neutralized. Excellent opportunity for Donald to “broker” a “ceasefire”.

It’s basically a surrender. In terms of conventional warfare.

Fake news about Hamas "atrocities " on Oct 7 still given traction on many forums

It’s true that there’s many suffering in Gaza and need assistance but let’s not go too far with the “fake news” delusion. The world saw it. You cannot be serious.

Unless it’s a really battered and/or has some significant damage on it, would be hard to find a Rolex for that price. Even the ladies models that are relatively less expensive are going for half a million second hand.

Sad news. May she rest in peace. Blue Light Yokohama was the first Japanese song I heard and instantly fell in love with it.

Only one reason I can think of is that if you were involved in a moving vehicle accident, they would want to check to see if you were using your phone at the time

indeed. very good reasoning, and that got me thinking it could be the same for this particular incident. i.e. using your phone while parking.

Fewer people on the planet is a good thing.

You bet. However some areas declining and other areas expanding is not good balance.

If I understood correctly, Itochu may finance 7&i, not the buyout. So, the title may be misleading.

Looks more like the fabric came up and then the application was decided. Need to work backwards on this. Start with knife attack and then brainstorm the measures.

I’m sincerely hoping this is not just a flash in the pan. And that Japan is dead serious about preventing illegal immigration. Japan HAS GOT TO LEARN FROM OTHERS’ MISTAKES.

Hope that the “lessons learnt” from past incidents have all been implemented and the reactor facility had been confirmed safe against any black swan events. In other words, a thorough risk assessment has been performed and documented. And the regulators have been satisfied by the control measures. Wish them a safe and smooth operations.

Voters are more interested in their hefty electricity and gas bills than the future national energy mix, experts say.

Don’t need an expert to figure that out. Also, can’t blame the public for wanting relief from huge bills.

As a non-Japanese it is always frustrating to see such morons showing up and display their stupidity so proudly. For those who justify saying that locals too behave badly, yes but the vast majority do not and they are not the biggest fans of those locals either. Foreigners displaying such nincompoopery are usually tourists and put the non-Japanese living here under poor light.

a girl born in Aichi Prefecture in 2022 has Japanese nationality because both of her parents are Afghani

Turns out that’s incorrect. There can be many reasons for the girl to have been granted nationality but her parents being from a particular country isn’t one of them. Otherwise too, a very poorly written piece.

Contrary to what a lot of people might think , it’s a pretty normal request. The incident command system needs to establish an incident commander (IC) along with the various section chiefs for planning, safety, logistics, media response and so on. This information would be necessary for any parties to liaise, not just the US.

Violent end to a long life. Some people expect the elderly to behave more and more in a certain way whereas the fact is that when you start growing old beyond a point , you basically start reverting to being a child. You’re weaker, defenses lower, lose motor functions, reflexes bit by bit. Being noisy is not the worst of it all, for sure. They’ll understand when (and if) they get that old.

correct. Any event out of the ordinary from a near miss to a minor incident to a major accident are all not normal events and therefore investigations are mandated depending on the severity of incident.

It may look or sound scary , but this is normal and actually a good sign. Regulators doing their job and making operators accountable is sign of a properly run industry.

Mass , velocity , momentum , hardness , surface roughness etc. etc. of the projectile are not defined in the law for this reason. Judje will make the decision whether it was assault or not.
