Deaths sadly continue, the war continues, but genocide it is not. Despite what the echo chamber demands you to think and say.

And chabs, Thankyou for your kind concern.

Its amnesty international

So another group loses credibility and legitimacy. Line them up mate, the more of them appear doesn't mean that they are correct. I know you collectivists like to think that way, but if ten billion people screamed the earth is flat it still wouldn't be true.

The idiots that need to scream genocide constantly, like it's some sort of club, are only hurting their cause. This line in the sand stuff is from the school sandpit.

why not catch the nigerian? oh wait, that might actually require police work.

The Nigerian will be safely tucked away in ‘no go’ ( for the cops ) buildings somewhere in Kabukicho.

Being a hard-left Greens candidate in Australia certainly does not denote any significant intelligence. Pretty much the opposite, it may be argued.

Good point!

Our left leaning Aussie ABC actually led with this story last night ( it was ahead of theSK martial law one! ) The victim card here will be very strong, cause she is an aboriginal lady and they often get treated with more ‘compassion’ and leniency from our Aussie legal system. Her daughter was on tv telling us that she told her Mum she will be free soon.

The narrative is that the poor lady she was a victim of her own stupidity, but there’s this fact not reported above. The 58-year-old from Perth, ran as the Greens candidate for the West Australian electorate of Pearce in the 2022 federal election.

The Nigerian prince romance scam, please. Carrying luggage from Laos…

Little do they know about the Japanese judiciary. Would be surprised if Japan caves in to the pressure that’ Aussies will demand our government puts on them for further leniency. Feel for the lady, but 6 years is light for the amount seized, and Japan doesn’t mess around when it comes to this stuff.

Yoon’s party controls 108 seats in the 300-member legislature.

Nice little head turner for those that still entertain a bit of superstition or numerology. 108 being a very auspicious number in the Asian view of the cosmos. Not too auspicious for Japans mate Yoon though by the sound.

Agree with kohakuebisu, this is a big deal, very dramatic, almost movie-like yet haven’t heard anyone talking about it here at work today. Martial law declared in a neighboring country should have alarm bells ringing.

Just realized how little I know about what’s going on in SK. Think it maybe time to read up on the place as it affects the stability and future of the entire region. Everything being connected

Earthly temptations

In Buddhism, there are 108 earthly temptations, or vices, that humans must overcome to achieve enlightenment. These temptations include arrogance, obsession, and violence.

Reading the comments above it seems there’s a lot of Biden/Kamila supporters still in denial. There’s parties where you can go and scream at the ocean for that guys.

Problem is if you had it your way you took the bleeding heart ‘moralist’ approach and kept giving consolations and voice to the jihadist entities playing you like a fiddle, the result would be a long drawn out war that never ends, and by historical accounts does much more damage and creates ten times the misery than a quick one does. All military scholars and strategists say the same thing. You get in quick, hit hard, then get out.

Hamas is staring down the barrel of their final days. Still hijacking food supplies with their guns, still terrorizing their own people, still holding hostages and scurrying around trying to look after themselves.

It will be quick, intense and then it will be done. What should’ve happened from the start.

We have entered the next phase of the collective purge. This is where those on the out just don’t even try and hide their corruption any more. It’s actually the perfect last chapter to the Biden presidency. The final middle finger to y’all after claiming to be a force for truth and justice all this time. The joke is obviously on us.

Posted in: 30% of tourists to Japan experienced overtourism problems in 2024 See in context

Japan had ample time to plan for this during Covid under the ‘regional revitalization’ banner. The idea was to get people off the over worn single track lines of the regular destinations and spread it out to other lesser known areas like my hometown of Fukui, which is a perfect little hidden gem of a place less than two hours from overtourism ‘central’, Kyoto.

My wife was actually involved in a small promotion company that worked with the tourist bureaus and other government entities. She came away from the experience disappointed and disgusted.

What an absolute self-serving , small minded bunch of useless idiots they turned out to be. Lots of infighting and personality conflicts, lots of pretending to work on these short term ‘this’ll do’ fist pumping projects with no sense nor imagination. They would give the public access to suggest and make proposals only to choose the most mediocre one ‘that had the right connections’. A few posters were made, a few talks were held, but nothing of any real substance could ever be achieved and all of the money and resources just went up in smoke. We still have very few foreign tourists here despite its massive potential. She left the job disenchanted, bitter and disappointed. The amount of time and money that was wasted on these jokers is unforgivable, and the act like gods only chosen ones too.

So yeah, there’s that. Hopefully AI comes in and sweeps them all away, because it’s the only way Japan will ever really improve.

Luckily tourists can just make the efforts themself to choose a place they’ve never heard of and then go and discover its charms. Every single prefecture in Japan has them so travelers choose a random city or town and check it out. You’ll find a piece of the real Japan.

The policies actually sound decent, so do the pledges, he just needs to learn how to behave. It’s been a train wreck so far. APEC wasn’t a great start on the world stage at all. All we see is entitlement and arrogance.

How are the opposition taking to his olive branch I wonder? Are the daggers out or are they going to give him a shot? Is he better behind closed doors?

Will only hope he is and reserve judgement and see.

Very sad to hear another piece of proof that the CCP is willing to shut down , arrest ( 7 years! ) those well educated citizens that could actually play a role in finding a way to get off the dark trajectory of a system that could send the whole world to hell if left unchecked.

Posted in: Social media companies slam Australia's under-16 ban See in context

The ferocity of the objections by big tech shows just how much they depend on twisting the minds of young people to get them to spend money on things the tech industry promotes and how much they value the information they collect (steal) and sell to other firms through their web browsers and social media sites. They are a truly reprehensible and rapacious lot.

Absolutely spot on. They have zero conscience, are predatory by nature, the damage they are doing to young brains is undeniable and they will use whatever free speech argument that they can pick up and run with to deny them their profits. Let Australia lead the world on this one, we are not like Japan where we need to know the outcomes of everything before we even consider changing, nor are we quite at the stage where our society is completely controlled by and subservient to big tech, at least not yet.

We can think on our feet and adjust course as we go.

Virus , so by acknowledging it you are solving it?

Sure, we all know it's changing and yes man has had a lot to do with it......and?

I suggest it's a meaningless question, one deliberately set up to trap or polarize people and then of course make those delightful souls who are a force for good in the world ( gag) feel virtuous and pat themselves on the back for doing absolutely nothing. Bravo.

The usual empty stuff. Now if it were a question on possible solutions and options on the table, that could be a worthy discussion. Instead, we prefer to chirp this noise.

Deliberately over-simplified question set up to demonize any mind seeking a more sophisticated answer to an extremely complex issue. Straight out of the dying lefts playbook. Keep it up guys. Keep damaging all of your own causes. You want an easy target to demonize, and there lies the problem. So yeah, NO!

With opposition support critical for passing budgets and bills, Ishiba acknowledged in remarks to reporters that he would "have to listen more carefully to the views of each party" in the Diet deliberations.

a paradigm shift for the LDP who have got so used to calling the shots so easily for so long. Are they up to it? Can they? Have my doubts, but we shall see.

Many of the jobs and industries are already run by tough guys with minimal education and cultural sensitivity. No wonder these poor imports get treated badly. Happens in every country by the way. You see it the way the Thais treat the manual labourers and cleaners from their neighbouring countries, the atrocious ways the Indian and Filipino workers get treat in Saudi , my oldies copped it back in the 60s in Australia, in fact probably most countries in the world. Thats why us immigrants are so tough!

“If Hezbollah breaks the agreement and tries to rearm, we will attack,” he said. “For every violation, we will attack with might.”

The only language radical Islam can and will ever understand. Finally some respite for Lebanon. I hope was it all worth it.

Let’s hope the ceasefire sticks, and you manage to root out the causes of the mess and choose to live in peace with your neighbors from now. Hezbollah and the likes have only brought death, misery and destruction. So sad, for what was once a thriving metropolis and a jewel of the Middle East. Free yourselves from the anti-semitic mind virus, one that in the west, managed to morph and feed off the woke-mind virus which is something historians will look back at with dismay. Luckily woke is dying too.

Some never will be free of course, but they are damned by choice. They simply need an easy scapegoat so as not to see the devils within. That’s a story that goes back millennia.

You really still think you can negotiate with the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah? Really?

Come January the world is about to change big time, so this is just more posturing and playing pretend. No more delusions, deceptions or dark arts.

You want me dead amigo, planning to get the job done? That’s where you’re going.

Real simple.

A firm and unflinching Team Trump will remind the world to remember that there are serious consequences for all of our actions. No more flip flopping policies that only get taken advantage of by bad faith actors. No more pandering to blood lusting smoke-and-dagger fiends.

Strength through peace. Hezbollah and Hamas, your days are numbered and you know it. Make better choices (and puppet masters) in your next life if you get one.

JAY that’s a bit dark mate, maybe a bit over the top too? I know all governments took a hit in credibility with the Covid shemozzle, (especially Victorians!) but I don’t think the labor government is quite as sinister as you make out. It’s still Australia man, I’d go easy on the evil forces trying to keep us down narrative. Most of it can usually be chalked up to good old incompetence . Harley’s razor for ref.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

These apps are wrecking kids heads in a big way and I reckon it’s cool Australia is having a run at it. Not a labor fan at all, but this stuff is even more important than politics.

So isn’t this all an issue for parents?

Who really wants to entrust their kids to government? Like they would know better what to do for the kids?

You ever tried keeping kids , especially young girls away from TokTok? It’s a rare case, just like drinking, smoking and getting tattoos that the government needs to regulate.

Posted in: Australia rejects Musk's claim that it plans to control access to the internet See in context

As an Aussie , not a labor fan (nor the identity politics, they like to play with) am also a fan of the Muskman, but on this one I’d like to give the labor government the benefit of the doubt. It may be seen as a political stunt from a struggling government as per the comments above, but someone had to pick up the ball and at least try and restrict child access to these social media sites that are doing so much damage to their young brains and mental health. It maybe impossible but it’s a worth a shot and I believe represents a step in the right direction. Doing nothing may have disastrous results for an entire generation.

Being able to put partisanship aside it makes me proud to see my country having a real run at a seriously difficult problem. Also feel blessed to have had a childhood running around the bush, climbing trees and getting into mischief.

A big gray zone with no easy answers, so will watch, listen and learn and see how the debate plays out.
