There is no rice shortage. That only exists when more money can not buy it. But you pay and you can have as much as you want. Conclusion. It is another greed grab.

Koizumi junior is not even the shadow of his daddy. Without his father he would be a salaryman somewhere in the matrix of A Japanese multinational.
his father on the other hand whom I had the pleasure to meet several times is One of Japan’s statesman of the last 50 years. If not the statesman of the last 50 years.

Sumo has a chance to become a global sports but it will require many breaks with the traditional sumo.
the 15 day format needs to be changed in the international competitions, the athletes must become more athletic in their upper bodies, an alternative for the loincloth considered.
the fighting rules are fine. The ranking system can be changed but that is risky as it’s an intrinsic part of the sport.

Instand noodles come from Taiwan, not Japan. But Japan is forgiven, as when one is not creative one must steal.
i do not rejoice in Japans decline. Which inevitable will gather pace like a snowball rolling downhill. But i am glad to see the inept business methods punished.
Currently it’s the Chinese keeping up real estate prices and the Taiwanese buying up the bankrupt companies.
Japan is one of the 3 most beautiful countries in the world and the food and drinks also top 3.
on the other hand it’s also top 3 in racism and a top 3 xenophobic country. My wife, from Hongkong, has been treated horribly the 7 years we lived together in Japan.
if Japan would accept facts instead of whisfull thinking and accept that criticism can be positive it might be a world leader. Which it never was before.
The decline of the population is a blessing with some minor problems.
The shrinking of the economy is not a disaster seeing the heights Japan is still on. It has a lot of space to fall before it would really hurt.
but the good part and things of Japan can move me to tears of joy, the bad part to tears of suffering.
yet i Thank Japan for giving me also happiness in the 2x 7 years i lived there.

Neither of rhese 2 measures make sense. Providing a residence certificate is easy and costs 200/300 yen.

better enforce rules on car manufacturers. Some of the “ safety features” are actually dangerous such as the sensor which pushes the steering wheel when you might leave your lane. It scares the hell out of me if forgot to disable it. If i ever have an accident, that will be the cause.

Does he mean “ Japans inevitable economical decline “ ?
Japan went from the 2nd economy to the 5th and even California, one US State is now ahead of Japan. India to surpass soon.
Japan’s economy and population is shrinking. Only tourism is temporary saving the Bdp for a while.
the only way to correct the economic situation is to accept facts but that is exactly what Japan can’t bring itself to do. Smaller does not have to mean worse.
