It's like I mentioned previously here. The imperial Chinese and Japanese empires have been rivals and enemies throughout the history of the Orient. But both peoples have contributed greatly to humankind in so many ways.
There are still some close-minded booger-brained chumps in America who use that 'Pearl Harbor excuse' to 'justify' hating Japan and its people. Yes, they had a fascist regime but those bastards were defeated and punished.
China (which was an ally during WW2) then had a civil war and the Commies won. Everything got flipped around. And the CCP in charge of it now are just plain rotten.
owzerDec. 3 01:25 pm JST
Another reason to like the Japanese!
Even my uncles who served during the Korean war (just 5 years after WW2) have told me that. Many of them went to Japan for liberty and they loved the place - the people, culture, sightseeing, etc.
Japan has long been a much better place. The fascist government they had is gone. If the indoctrinated Chinese have such a negative view of Japan, then that's their problem.

I agree with him. Ever since Benicio del Toro's masterpiece 'Che' was snubbed and ignored by both the Golden Globes and The Oscars, I find it exceedingly difficult to have any interest in the modern era of Hollywood being lorded over by American conservatism that sees nothing new or innovative, but simply just rehashing previously made movies and pretending it's something new.
We can say what we want about Sean and his past, but he has greatly matured (as a person and in film) and he has come a LOOOOOONG way since 'Fast Times' in 1982.
He's taken sassy lip from critics for his docus on the waste and pointlessness of the Iraq war, which the karma chameleons of America now disavow. He's also spent over a year in Haiti doing humanitarian relief after that horrible earthquake.
The movie industry is full of regurgitated and recycled trash. But Sean is smart and we need to recognize that.

Eat the leftToday 08:53 am JST
Of the 100 songs included on the list, 39 are from female-identifying artists, a record first in the global chart's 7-year history.
Why is every other article on here today praising women? Are they wallflowers that need moral support or something?
That ain't the issue for me. There are some good women performers (who need to be recognized) and a flurry of no talent sex dolls.
This year I saw Heart, which consists of the sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson for the second time. They may have been head-turners back when they started but those chicks have long paid their dues. They've been successful for so long (nearly 50 years) because they have what it takes - the talent. And they never ever pushed the 'sexual' image during their long career. Talented women stars don't do that, they don't need to.
And I also saw the pioneering German synth band Kraftwerk. While waiting to get into the arena theater I interacted with some various folks - synth hobbyists and junkies, people who have worked in audio manipulation (I've done some of that), new wavers, proggies and more. We also threw around a few ribald jokes about Taylor Swift and all the other pop tarts that I won't repeat here. And let's not forget the woman synth player Susan Ciotola, who has written songs and pieces for ads, station identifications, etc. She's not in the limelight so to speak but she is there.
Just because the charts have a lot of women doesn't mean that they're good. Remember the dumb Spice Girls and all the hype they got? Ciotola has been at the game since the 70s, at least. So have Heart. Will TS or Suzi Carpenter be around in 40, 50 years or so? I doubt it.

A) the Court has also issued a warrant for Hamas leadership in relation to that attack.
B) Netanyahu has killed 10s of thousands of civilians and waged a near genocidal campaign against the Palestinians that has been way more devastating than October 7. If he's broken the law he should face the consequences just like Hamas should.
Smart. And while we're at it, let's issue arrest warrants for Putin and his satellite trump. They are both criminals of the highest order and degree.

Manga, and anime for that matter, are nothing more than cultural poison. It does nothing but glorify degeneracy and childish fantasy, which seems to continue unhealthily into adulthood. People are kidding themselves if they think this hasn't created generations of weird, socially isolated individuals who would rather live in fictional worlds than contribute to society or build real relationships.
Fantasy and sci-fi builds, inspires and creates the future.

I agree with Jay
Manga, Transformers, Pac-Man, Godzilla and other unique cultural aspects of Japan has greatly gifted the world, and not in entertainment either. Sure, some people get 'overboard' on this stuff and take it much too seriously but that happens with practically everything such as money, religion, sex or fandom of stars like Elvis Presley. I've seen and known my share of all that.
But manga and such is meant to be just plain fun and besides, what's wrong with a little bit of good fun? Nothing.

So it would have been better to make a song about how wonderful things are in Africa, with beautiful scenes from the Serengeti, and that would get people to donate and send money to starving people. Ok, I see!
And when was this guy born? I remember it explicitly when it occurred. I was 18 years old. As for where 'nothing grows' does this guy know what the Sahara Desert is or even means? That's where the horrible famine was hitting so hard. And on top of that, Bob Geldof wrote that into a SONG, something hardly anybody knows how to do these days. So razz his ass for writing this song and drawing the world's attention to that major humanitarian crisis when he saw a news report on his native Irish TV. Then he wrote a song about it (observations are what drive good songwriters, mind you) and then he asked and enlisted several popular stars to fill in on it. The video shows several stars that I like, some I would even see live in concert myself such as Sting, Phil Collins, Kool and the Gang. This Christmas song is a classic of my Gen X and I love and cherish it very much. And I'm sticking to it!

Quote: initiatives such as Band Aid were rooted in historical slavery and colonialism.
Complete BS. They were rooted in a desire to help people who were in trouble.
Not least because so many post-colonial, post-independence African governments were violently abusive, grossly corrupt and complete rubbish at protecting their citizens.
And may I also mention the Live Aid concert, 'Hear 'n' Aid', 'We Are the World' (yeeeccchhh), 'Hands Across America' (bleeeaaaahhhh!!!!), 'the Super Bowl Shuffle' (BARF!) and LBNL Farm Aid. And during it all Little Steven put together a similar multi-star project called 'Sun City' as a protest against the fascist BS apartheid that ruled South Africa at the time.
On the 'right' we have these intolerant screaming hysterical geeks who hate everyone and everything other than themselves and who think for themselves. They want to destroy everyone who don't kiss their asses. I say the hell with those people.
On the 'left' we have these intolerant screaming hysterical geeks who hate everyone and everything other than themselves and who think for themselves. They see historical and past abuses as excuses to hate certain people as well. They see a beautiful bowl of flowers and look at nothing but the dung that makes the dirt that the flowers sprang from. In college they were the stereotype 'short hair + dress shirt over-intellectual know-it-alls' who scream but know zero. And I also say the hell with those people.
There's a saying about such bellyachers, left or right and 'gold Cadillacs' that I won't write here.

Rest in Peace to all the innocent victims.
Beijing has described the killings as isolated incidents, or the motives of the perpetrators have not been publicly disclosed.
These incidents are no longer "isolated".
There is clear domestic unrest and huge, unaddressed issues in China - and the CCP don't want anyone there to know about this attack because they know there will be copycats.
That's right now. Somebody obviously did this heinous act because he was pissed about something in his life, which only shows that the CCP 'paradise' and indoctrination isn't so 'perfect' after all. Just like when I saw the start of the Tianammen Square massacre live on TV before the media blackout, you gotta keep it all outta sight. Undercover of the night.
