John,
What’s with your continual use of “mob” and “klan”?
These people are her family members and should be referred to as such.
I’m guessing because they are Aborigines you chose to use these disrespectful terms.

I thought the headline meant he stole fruit and vegetables from a store and was going to feed them to the monkeys and chimpanzees.
I came into the story feeling sympathy for him.

“His supporters”. Absolutely disgraceful that people can support a cold, callous convicted murderer like that.

The evidence is flimsy and circumstantial but of course she’ll be found guilty. Just another day in the Japanese judicial system.
In all honesty, maybe these stories don’t make the news but I can’t recall ever reading of a person being found not guilty by a Japanese court.

Two years on remand waiting on the trial seems an excessively long time.
In a country with a low crime rate, surely the courts aren’t that busy.

Yeah, is the poster obsessed with this purse suggesting that was somehow the motive or catalyst for the murder?
Truly bizarre.

I thought this has been covered Steve.
The type of coin purse being mentioned is different from the purse a lady might use. Not that the type of purse is relevant in any way.
I really don’t understand your line of thinking here.

And, if all the attention about the coin purse is to insinuate that the victim was gay, the story states that the police are looking for a man who checked in with him. So, quite evidently they were two gay men.

They merely listed what was found. A backpack, a mobile phone and a coin purse. The type I have seen many men use.
I don’t understand your fixation with this item.

Steve, the police also mentioned a backpack and a mobile phone.
You consider them “so odd” too?

You seriously think they’ll get 15 years in jail for vehicle theft?
I’ve read about murderers getting that long a sentence on this website.
Please be realistic.

GBR48,
This sounds like plain assault, there doesn’t seem to be a sexual element to it. Not from the facts described in the story, anyway.

The point about “not remembering” and “being drunk” is usually used in a jokey way in comments by various posters on crime stories here.
