Only five to ten years imprisonment with hard labor and a 20 million yen fine for each individual followed by deportation would be suitable for these vermin.

Nothing like Christmas celebrations in Fall I guess. Those fall leaves look nice in the background.

Merry Christmas Japan but I'll stick to the traditional December celebrations.

1000 intrusions and he still has time to work? Something weirdly admirable about Yuta-san. Or maybe I've just lived here too long!

Posted in: Mount Fuji convenience store becomes 'lawless zone' as tourists hurl abuse at security guards See in context

It might be time to place a permanent riot squad there on site 24 hours a day as some have suggested. Arrests and incarceration would be the following procedures.

Posted in: Chief public prosecutor apologizes to man acquitted of 1966 murders See in context

To the editor....also "the man" mentioned in the headline has a name, Iwao Hakamata. I thought it a bit disrespectful to not name Hakamata-san in the headline after 58 years in the public spotlight.

Very pretty I know but I'm so over all these illumination sites. Maybe I'm a bit of a grinch!

Merry Christmas all!

Total buffoon. Probably disinterested in even being there. Wonder if it was the dead fish handshake too.

“I did go into her apartment because I liked looking at her underwear but I never planned to steal anything. I had feelings for her.”

Ain't love grand?!

The stuff of horror movies here sometimes. I expect he was planning to still accept her pension.

Posted in: Halloween crowd control tight in Tokyo's Shibuya, Shinjuku districts See in context

Shinjuku and Shibuya aside I hope everyone enjoyed the biggest day/night on the Japanese calendar. Everything was Halloween themed in Osaka yesterday!

My family had loads of candy for the local trick or treaters but strangely yet again for another year we didn't have any kids come by in costume.

Have they been banned too?

Understand their feelings totally. The Sakura trees in my neighborhood have gradually disappeared over the last two decades. Sometimes removed due to "progress" other times for reasons unknown.

The local reaction? "Shoganai"

Posted in: Celebrations subdued in Tokyo's Shibuya district on weekend before Halloween See in context

I can understand places wanting to avoid overcrowding. Why do people want to hang around in the streets in fancy dress anyway?

Maybe they could have Halloween parties at home or at their workplaces, schools, universities etc...

Just thinking out aloud here. Have a good week readers!

Unreasonably warm in Osaka again today..
