North Korea tries not drop ICBM craps into Japan's EEZ.

very considerate of them.../s

the timing of this and the NK troops in ukraine doesnt seem like a coincidence - no doubt rus has sent some missile experts to NK to oversee their missile program in return for the troops kim has sacrified in ukr

Posted in: China adds security cameras around Japan school after student fatally stabbed See in context

Japan never made sincerely apology to her neighbours.

sounds more like the CCP doesnt want to accept it sincerely, as making japan an eternal enemy suits its nationalistic propaganda purposes. its like apologizing to someone going lalalalala with their fingers in their ears

a lot of cameras in china conveniently 'didnt record the incident' when it doesnt suit the government's narrative. strange that

For him to be smart he really comes off as slow.

he is smart for sure, but is also autistic or aspergers or something - finds it difficult to stop his mouth saying stuff (or hands typing stuff) that could have negative ramifications...remember the 'pedo guy' incident from the kids in the thai cave?

Posted in: Chinese social media companies condemn hate speech against Japanese after knife attack See in context

once again, the ccp has faced its anti-japan policies gone overboard and ordered the social media companies to reel it in. same with smashing up japanese shops/restaurants a decade or so ago after those islands were nationalized....same with the response and peoples' reaction to covid. CCP is a 'reactive' government, not a 'proactive' government, and it only reacts when it perceives its grip on the social fabric is at risk of weakening.

Posted in: Japan's food waste in FY2022 caused ¥4 tril in economic losses See in context

a pet peeve of mine is people throwing away cooked rice at the end of the day, because they want freshly cooked rice. wrap it and throw it in the fridge, zap it in the microwave and rice is fine to eat for days after being cooked.

Food delivery includes groceries too.

with "food delivered fast" and "drop off salads and sandwiches," i dont think the article implies that segment of the market

people should learn to use a knife and some simple condiments instead of ordering online all the time...then crying about cost of living!!

Posted in: Foreign woman walks into bus at Tokyo’s Shibuya Scramble intersection See in context

id say the bus was going too fast to readily stop at the line preceding the bottom pedestrian walkway without braking too heavily - you can't even see the stop line, its off the bottom of the screen. legal entry into the intersection.

the signals definitely changed too quick for any vehicle to clear the intersection properly, and will likely be extended a second or 2 in the future because of this incident.

now if there was a way to do something to fix the idiots glued to their phones, but unfortunately being an idiot is legal too

@kaimycahi

ohtani must be on a completely different plane of existence with regards to financial literacy compared to us ordinary plebs, but im sure we all regularly log into our own accounts to identify for any suspicious transactions. $17 million over the span of several years is probably just a drop in the bucket for shohei, but you'd think he still logs in to his various accounts, even just to see how many figures are in his balance

but that does not mean they are wrong for demanding transparency.

of course not - demanding transparency is essential. it is just that said countries chuck a hissy fit, block imports, threaten nuke armageddon etc when the same is demanded of them. the countries that are somewhat 'relatively' transparent don't seem to act this way - why? there is a common denominator
