The North Koreans and the French do it better. Everything Trump touches turns to tawdry tat and a dumpster fire. "No Kings" are going for broke while "big, strong men with tears in their eyes" whine to "Sir".

The upkeep and maintenance for Trump's bloated but fragile ego is costing taxpayers more than the felon's incarceration would have. And the final bill for his monarchial aspirations is far from settled.

Now it's the turn for all those Israeli "human shields" living willfully ignorant of the death and destruction brought by their terrorist leaders to their neighbors. A one-state solution for the two semitic peoples is the only way to stop the many decades of warmongering, bury the hatchets and learn to live together in peace as human beings.

So violating international law with a violent attack on a sovereign country, targeting and assassinating individuals, destroying infrastructure and killing civilians can be summed up with one word, "excellent" from America's amazingly inarticulate president ?! Oh, how far the English language has fallen and been debased since the days of the Founding Fathers who must be rolling in their graves with shame and embarrassment.

The "anti-war" potus approved Netanyahu's message to the mullahs and signed off on their attack. If the Israelis could bring down the ruling gangster government of Iran, it would be a good thing, but also good if the Israeli aggressors got a taste of the death and destruction they like to mete out to their weaker neighbors on a regular basis.

The joy music genius, Brian Wilson, brought to many, was paid for by personal suffering as a survivor of a dysfunctional family. The California of the Beach Boys is long gone, now just a memory, a nostalgic whiff of summer lost in today's L.A.'s tear-gas-filled streets of the Trump era, but Brian Wilson's contribution will be remembered in the annals of American popular music. While he was inspired by the music of others, he, in turn, inspired many others with his own. RIP

Netanyahu has been using ISIS-affiliated terrorist thugs in Gaza to sow chaos, killing civilians and stealing food from aid-trucks so that the Hamas government can be smeared by all this covert criminal activity of the hired Israeli 5th column. As a result of the IDF's genocidal destruction of life and infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank, there will arise a resistance army swelled by a host of new recruits, a destructive tsunami of PTSD in Israeli society and a huge boost to antisemitism (defined as criticism of Israel's government).

What a disgrace! - that the affairs of the world's most powerful nation lie in the hands of an ignorant, inarticulate ninny who is unable to converse in a dignified adult manner with the heads of other countries! “That was not a pleasant day for you?” was an absurd rejoinder when Merz, who wasn't even born in 1944, referred to the strength of America to turn history's tides with decisive action as a force for good, a "subtlety" that sailed way over 47's head. With a leader so incapable to govern and so ineffective to lead by moral example something is really rotten in the state of America!

Posted in: Prison guard remembers faces of condemned See in context
PTSD is always the "wages of sin" for the individuals who have to do the dirty work as described by the former prison guard. Capital punishment has always been just one of the instruments of terror in the tool box of ruling elites to control society by appeasing the human desire for revenge which they cynically and conveniently dress up as "justice". But it is useless as a deterrent since killing comes natural to primates like us. Murder can never be eradicated in society. The only way capital punishment might work as a deterrent would be if it were ruthlessly applied to the suited and uniformed agents of the state, whether despotic or democratic, whose decisions are responsible for waging warfare causing death and suffering on an industrial scale, and for employing lawfare and torture to crush freedom and human dignity. In this 21st century we need a revolution in social thinking so that we can build the kind of liberal democratic that comforts the afflicted while "afflicting the comfortable". Sadly, the state of the world in 2025 holds out little hope for a "brave new world".
