Boeing 787's have had an impeccable safety record for 14 years until an Air India B787 crashes, the first and only hull loss. Now a few days later there's another incident involving a B787 and of 1189 of them flying around the world it just so happens to be another Air India B787. And you immediately suspect the aircraft and its maker and not the airline and its maintenance? That's just dumb.

How BOTH engines suddenly cutout/shutdown just after take-off, the mystery that must be solved ASAP...
That's not at all confirmed. In the available videos the engines are clearly audible operating as the plane descends to impact. At what percentage of thrust is unknown, but they didn't cutout/shutdown as you've put it.

Video shows ram air generator deployed, meaning electrical system malfunction. Engines were no longer supplying any or enough electrical power.
I haven't seen any video that clearly shows the RAT deployed. On the other hand, the video clearly shows the wings configured completely clean. I can't imagine how that would be possible, but a failure to set the flaps would certainly contribute if not cause the overrun on takeoff and lack of positive climb and possible stall.

This is a shame. A few years ago I enjoyed a day of tameshigiri under the instruction of the master swordsmith Matsunaga in Kumamoto using his swords and it was a very memorable experience that certainly enhanced my understanding and appreciation for Japanese swordcraft and swordsmanship and that I wish others would be able to experience for themselves. I really don't see why this can't be allowed if it were done in accredited and strictly controlled settings with close expert supervision.

Tabearuki is generally used to mean going around an area sampling the various local foods, not literally eating while walking around. When it is used to mean the latter, it's almost always with a negative connotation.

I couldn't agree more. Not only that track, but the entire Hunting High and Low album is fantastic. I hate it when people refer to A-ha as an 80's one-hit wonder. I've been a lifelong fan since they debuted back in 1985 and they've released quite a catalogue of great meaningful music since then. Some of their best songs have been from their more recent albums.

Stop it. You're making too much sense.
My favorite thing about the IWC is its land-locked member states, like Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Mongolia, etc. who in some people's minds evidently deserve to have any say in a body whose charter is to enable a sustainable commercial whaling industry through management and conservation, not practically ban it outright while refusing to conduct any continuing research into its viability. They should just rename it the International Anti-Whaling Commission (IAWC) and be done with it.

China has respected territorial integrity.
Liar.
A very generous estimation of the position of this Chinese survey ship (and several others) involved in this incident off the southern coast of Miyako-jima is this: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QPhJi1u6YHKfCqKv5 These seas are well within Japan's EEZ and no other country's, they're not contested in any way, and these Chinese government vessels have zero business conducting survey activity in Japan's EEZ without Japan's permission, which they clearly don't have as evident from the GOJ's actions. This couldn't be more of a violation of territorial integrity barring military activity, active drilling/mining, etc.

Unpopular as it may be, it's always been that the answer that every escalator manufacturer will give when questioned about the proper and acceptable way to use an escalator is that they designed their escalators for people to stand on and that they don't recommend anyone walking up or down them at any speed. the purpose of an escalator is to enable people to transit between levels without effort (walking), not to provide a means of walking faster than if they'd taken the stairs.

It seems that such people are the only thing that country sends to its criminal bases abroad..
Taking 2023 as a typical sample year, there were 118 criminal cases involving U.S. Forces SOFA status personnel in Japan. That's 118 people out of approximately 102,000 of us in Japan, which is 0.12%. The same year Japan had a criminal arrest rate of 0.22%. So no, it only seems like we're all criminals to people like you whose view of the issue is politically prejudiced and not based on facts.

Hey maybe these Marines were just trying to fit in with the locals? After all, Okinawa Prefecture, with it's alcohol guzzling populace (#2) and lack of public transportation, is number one every year n DUI cases (excluding U.S. Forces cases) with an annual total twice the national average.
Joking aside, these two Marines are an embarrassment and do not represent the 99‰ of U.S.SOFA personnel who live and work here without causing any problems about who you don't read about in the news. It's fortunate that no one was seriously injured and I hope the book is thrown at these two idiots under the Japanese legal system.

Yes we certainly do disagree. Had you been in Max's shoes you would have done the same. As a single-seater racer myself I absolutely would have. It would have been your priority as a competitor to do everything within the racing rules to give yourself an advantage and put your competitors at a disadvantage, not be concerned with making it a better race for the viewers. By pitting as late as possible, Max increased his 'laps as race leader' stat and enabled Leclerc to catch up to and possibly challenge Norris, one of his top competitors. He played his cards the only way he should have.

“I saw an extremely strong light coming in from the window. It was white, or shall I say yellow? So strong that I couldn’t keep my eyes open,” she said.
I'm sure she heard that, recounted countless times by others, but I sincerely doubt she actually remembers any of it. It's highly unlikely for a one year old to have clear memories of anything.
