USA likes to organize tournaments without the strongest nations, more chance to win?

Fifa Ranking: 1 USA / 8 Japan / 15 Australia / 21 Colombia.

Next time invite Spain, Germany or England.

Finally congratulations to Japan!

No Junior High school is not free in Japan, In my town the uniform and the bicycle cost 300,000 yens and it is mandatory.

The bicycle is mandatory? A student has no right to walk or take a bus to school?

Yes, the bike is mandatory for my child, he is not allowed to walk. We also cannot choose the bike we want to school.

You misread the post you are responding to here. It was about high school, not junior high school, and btw, junior high school in Japan, IS "free" tuition wise, and vouchers/subsidies are given to families who send their children to private schools, up to the price of tuition.

You are talking about something totally different than what is referred to in the article, they are talking about tuition only.

You are right this article is about high school but for high school it's the same in my city a uniform is mandatory and its price is out of logic, much too expensive just for clothes, it's a form of tax in my opinion.

For families here it's a significant expense, people don't care about the name but its a tax.

@browny: Not saying that she's going for the big money with that documentary, but if she chose to make it available for free, there would be plenty of options, starting from services like YT, DailyMotion et al to hosting that stuff on her own server. I'm sure some of the world's meetoo advocates would happily spare a few bucks for server maintenance. You get the point. If her goal was to make her story available to as many people as possible, there are any ways to achieve this. This has nothing to do with censorship but a lot with her attitude.

It is already available on many platforms that the Japanese have (amazon prime, Ululu, rakuten...) The problem is that it is blocked in Japan. If it is made available on youtube it will perhaps also be blocked for Japan. Only available with VPN like in China :)

There is no water shortage in Japan. It prevents the cold water pipes from freezing which would involve costly repairs. It's only a "dripping tap" overnight.

Ah ok I understand.

In the region where I live there is no need (Aichi near the sea). Maybe it is interesting to protect the pipes from the cold (I lived in a cold country before and never needed to do what you do)

The Japanese police are doing a great job of keeping our streets and roads safe for road users.

is this ironic?

In my city (in Aichi prefecture) the police only check if people are stopping before the train crossing (where the risk is very low) but never check the intersection where there are always 2 cars going through a red light

It is quite natural that Mr Mizutani was fully controlling Mr Otani's money just as a Japanese wife would.

I don't think you realize it. You cannot compare the banking management of a normal family (simple salary, vacation and food budget) and the financial management of a top athlete (salary, marketing, bonus,...).

For these people it is not their wife or friend who can manages it but several professionals (it's a job).

The Japanese overconsume electricity, gasoline compared to Europe.

The government should rather ask people to consume normally and so the bill goes down. (for example, not turning on the air conditioning or the TV all day, not taking baths every day, turning off the car engine in parking, etc.)

Japanese families consume too much! should start to make effort like Europe

Tokyo 2021 involved Japanese ethnic minorities in their national dress, if I remember rightly. So, it seems from the photos, China copied this in their ceremony.

Yes, you're right. China is like Japan. It uses minorities who are normally rejected by the government (like Ainu) to make the world believe that the country is integrating people well.

The two countries are very similar.

Sheikh YerboabyToday  09:53 am JST

every single country does a similar thing....commemorates it's own deaths and denigrates the hostilities of others.......the UK has remembrance day, asking people to wear poppies then call them unpatriotic if they refuse, whilst conveniently forgetting the many millions that have been killed in Britains murderous expansion across the globe over a few hundred years.

The US has it's "thank you for your service" hypocrisy, thanking their soldiers for "protecting" them from an enemy that never tried to attack them in any way, then with another breath loudly berate how other countries behave.

Japan it's contrite, poor us sad-face tabloid headline when remembering the atomic bombings of WWII whilst pretending their own imperial army wasn't one of the worst to have ever walked the earth.

China has Nanking.......this is tiresome. Finger pointing, moral grandstanding about who is the least bad. It's about time we all grew up and consigned war and expansionism to the annals of history.

Excatly
