Sorry, I am corrected. Misread an article. Storage at nuclear plants is at 80-90% capacity. There is an interim storage at Aomori.

Donald Trump Is Going to Destroy American Manufacturing
Bidenomics created a manufacturing boom. Trump is tearing that up by the roots.
Manufacturing employment increased by about 750,000 during Biden’s term—only about 100,000 more jobs than in 2019, but still the first time in 50 years that the recovery from a recession ended up with more manufacturing jobs than before, and in any case much of the employment from that investment has not come online because the factories aren’t finished yet.

The rebuilding of the US manufacturing industry and new industries will take years to complete. It not just about money but also supplies of materials and skilled staffs. US companies gutted their American plants and moved overseas. American capitalism.
There are no merchant shipbuilding yards. There are not enough raw ores.
In 2023, service industries accounted for 79.09% of US employment, while manufacturing represented 9.7%.

My training was in a smelting plant and heavy chemical plants. There are no shortcuts in building them due to required safety standards. Training of operators takes many months. The US lacks skilled workers. There are no magic wands.

How long to build an aluminum smelting plant? 2-3 years. Training of workers 1-2 years.

The decommission costs covered by law are the responsibility of the power companies. A small charge is added to the monthly bill. When applying for a decommissioning license the power company must show the work will be complete within 50 years. And they have the money in the bank to cover all costs.

US Steel (and aluminum) business set to take off with massive new shipbuilding contracts and shipyards and auto plants being built as two of many NEW steel and aluminum catalysts due to DJT policy of re-industrializing US.
Where are the shipyards and skilled workers to build them? The US cannot meet the aluminum demand.

Traditional whaling. In previous times whales were hunted from small open boats, not modern-day whale hunter ships. The whale had a chance. Man against whale and sometimes the whale won. Only one whale at a time could be caught.
It's the method of killing whales. Explosive harpoons. The whale can take several hours to die. Pregnant whales are also harpooned.
