It’s such a braindead take only spouted by historical brainlets

Well, sadly there are lots of people who have very very strong opinions about complex situations, based solely on legacy media news. Imagine what a world you'd live in if your information intake comes from CNN and experts on "the View"...

Stories like these always have a background, which the leftist biased western legacy media always omit, in their mission to always blame Israel. I do not know anything about this incident, but I would recommend to search for an article in the Jerusalem Times covering the same... safe bet is you fill information that here is omitted.

I am old enough to remember how European media and countries like Iran were pro-Israel. When leftist friends of mine went to work in a Kibbuz to experience fun and socialism. How this is turned into a rabid hate against Israel within a few decades is astonishing.

NATO lost its purpose when the Warsaw Pact disbanded 34 years ago. Rip the band-aid off; the US should leave.

Exactly. It has turned into a fig leaf for US interventionism ("coalition of the willing" "defending European democracy in Afghanistan") etc etc). Very good on Ishiba not attend this circus.

Posted in: Toxic threat from 'forever chemicals' sparks resistance in Georgia towns See in context

The Biden administration last year enacted the first enforceable national drinking water standards for six PFAS chemicals.

But under President Donald Trump, the federal government has since rolled back limits on four of the chemicals and delayed the compliance deadline for the remaining two.

As per standard procedure, the legacy media try to blame the PFAS problem on Trump. Fact is, this precedes Trump by decades and will continue after Trump for millenia. As the article correctly states, by now we are all exposed to PFAS. There is no simply way out of this, the best that can be hoped for is limiting the impact of the problem.

NATO leaders agree to hike military spending

...with money they do not have, for a mission that is suicidal. The current EU leaders need to be replaced.

"I don't want to use an example of Hiroshima, I don't want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing. That ended that war. This ended the war," Trump said.

I can see the logic, but he stepped into a hornets nest with this one. Sometimes Trumps tendency for hyperbole runs away with him, this is one case. He should have skipped that remark.

All of these are things that most people will pick up quickliy by simply observing the environment.

About the bathing rule, I always thought that is common sense, until to my astonishment I noticed that lots of ojisan regulars in the local sento actually do NOT follow this..... they typically walks straight to the furo and hop in dry to warm up (especially in winter), and THEN go out to wash themselves. Quite mind-boggling to watch this imho.

Trump says China can buy Iranian oil, but urges it to purchase U.S. crude

Kind of a meaningless statement. It is not for Trump to decide who China buys crude from. In the event, I doubt the Chinese are reckless enough to make themselves dependent on a politically controlled supply from the US. Seems to me he is really talking to the Iranian leaders.

More than recognize russia's disgraces.

I do not know what that is supposed to mean. A "disgrace" whatever you mean by that is not a country. And neither is Taiwan, unless you recognize it as such.

I tried Joe Rogan, Tucker Carlson, Jordan Henderson and the other types liked by the free-thinkers.

Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson are good choices. You might also want to check out Lex Friedman, Gad Saad, Unherd, Jordan Peterson, the Dark Horse channel, etc. Who the heck is this "Jordan Henderson"?

As far as I know, they don’t run daily news programs.

To compare the bias in the packed "daily news program", you might want to take a look at the top stories in various news aggregators. For example "Drudge Report" for the legacy propaganda view (pretty much representing your apparent diet), and for contrast "Citizen Free Press" which picks stories with another angle.

And most importantly, read up on background. The amount of context omitted by the likes of BBC and CNN is mind boggling.

So, who should we read for our news?

There is no one perfect source. Just try to look outside your Guardian/NYT etc bubble.

Planting trees has plenty of benefits, but this popular carbon-removal method alone can't possibly counteract the planet-warming emissions caused by the world's largest fossil-fuel companies

Ridiculous non-logic. The fossil-fuel producers, be they large or small, do not "cause emissions". The emissions are caused by the consumers of the fossil-fuels, aka all of us. The producers simply offer supply where there is demand.

The sleeper cell behind a deadly church bombing near Damascus belonged to the Islamic State group, which had plans to target a Shiite shrine in a similar attack, Syria 's Interior Ministry spokesperson said Tuesday.

Pretty feeble excuse, seeing that the current Syrian regime is fundamentally a continuation of ISIS. (Our beloved "moderate rebels" reborn). The situation for Christians, Druzes, Jews, and Shiites in current Syria is bleak indeed. But the secular Assad regime just had to be removed, didnt it.

Trump gambles on force over diplomacy

No he does not. He used limited force for a specific purpose and immediately resorted back to diplomacy. Something few US presidents would able to pull off, and certainly not the neocon/neolib warmongers. The headline shows ignorance and typical bias.

This was NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte heaping direct praise on Trump

I am absolutely no fan of Mark Rutte, but here he is simply stating a fact. Trump took the nuclear option for the Ayatollhas off the table without getting involved into a stupid endless war in the region. But somebody actually praising Trump must be a hard thing for the legacy media scribblers to swallow...

Sadly, I do not see what influence he has on the fanatical nuts that run Hamas and are STILL holding hostages in their horror bunkers. He has stopped the money spigot for them, but what else do you expect him to do?

I have not read their party platform, but if the legacy media call it "far right", I would assume it is a common-sense party. The pattern is familiar from Europe. Conservative parties that simply want to return to a sane world with protected borders and national interest above UN interest (such as the AfD in Germany) are routinely smeared as "far right" by the legacy media, which seem the same in Japan.

geronimo2006

A shaky ceasefire is better than none. Moving forward might be very difficult. Iran will not want to give up on nukes even more now than ever before

Iran will will not give it up as long as the Ayatollhas rule there. Regime change is the only scenario that would change that. But with the quick, decisive internvetion, Trump has taken the Shia bomb option off the table, and the region is happy for that (including the Sunni muslim world).

Now regime change is up to the people of Persia, and not to American bombs. I am happy that Trump went as far as necessary and did not get bogged down in another endless war, desired by the neocon warmongers like Graham. Well done.

Since the end of the Soviet Union, Nato has lost its reason for existence (countering the Warsaw Pact) and should have been dissolved long ago, instead of being turned into a vehicle for military intervention across the world. End it already. If the US want to meddle, they can do that themselves without hiding under a "Nato" blanket.

U.S. media on Tuesday cited people familiar with the Defense Intelligence Agency findings as saying

That is as vague a speculation by the legacy media as you can get. You can always find "people familiar with" an agency who say this or that. Fact is, the Israelis seem satisfied that Fordor has been shut down, and is more convincing that some unnamed "people" in opinion articles.

It seems to me that Trump pulled if off.... taking the Ayatollha bomb off the table without getting into another endless stupid war. I am pleasantly surprised.
