Oh, and let us not forget, the Justice Department is part of the Executive Branch. They LITERALLY work for the White House. Trump IS their boss!! Just as Biden was their boss and they pushed horrendous prosecutions of elderly people.....
And all of the peanut gallery types cheered on their lawlessness and their abuse of due process.... because they supported the political agenda.

Funny, I remember Eric Holder, as Obama's AG, saying he was Obama's "wingman".
Not an upholder of the Constitution and the law.
But "Obama's wingman".
Translation:
"I am here to carry out Obama's agenda".
Spare me the lecturing of all of the Trump haters who hate that he is in power.

Posted in: Why are there so few benches and garbage bins in public places in Japanese cities? See in context
This starts with the bins.
Let's face it, if you have bins for trash, then you have to hire people to empty the bins. Which Japan had plenty of back in the day. An army of workers who would empty the bins. Usually, but not always, elderly / older workers.
But, of course, when budgets start to get tight, bureaucrats look for ways to "cost down".
And the Aum sarin gas attack in 1995 provided a perfect excuse. Gotta remove the bins because of potential safety concerns / threats. Trains, subways, stations, public places, etc. etc.
Perhaps genuine concern at the outset.
But, the bureaucrats figured out this was a convenient excuse to eliminate bins.... and, thus, eliminate the busy bin cleaners.
However.....
Benches and bins go hand-in-hand. You give someone a place to sit, they will inevitably want to stop and have a drink or eat something.
And, thus, if you have benches, then people will complain about no bins. And, of course, if you have to have bins because of benches, then you have to have a bin emptying army.
So, naturally, no benches because benches will lead to demands for bins. Which are not possible because of terrorist threats.
Thus, no benches because of not wanting to have to provide bins.
And not wanting to provide bins is really about not wanting to have to pay someone to empty them!!

Funny how avian flu only affects birds whose we either eat or that make something we eat....
It's almost like it....
Targets our food supply!
Pretty crafty little flu, being so selective!
But, apart from that, if the Biden Administration killed 150 million chickens, hard to see how Trump is to blame for egg prices 6 weeks into his Administration.
But, of course, Trump is to blame for everything the Dems do...

Since 2015, Europe has been committing suicide with their insane importation of massive numbers of migrants from the Middle East and Africa, predominantly working age MALES.
This has utterly transformed the face of Europe, including Germany, and it is the regular everyday people who are paying the price. The elites are unaffected and they are selling out their countries and the citizens of their countries. They are, effectively, traitors.
The AfD knows this. Alas, far too many Germans still do not see the existential threat to their way of life, more than likely in large part to a compliant media and educational system which squelches ANY discussion of the imminent threat.
Centuries from now, if we are lucky, historians will look back in amazement at how a once great civilization willingly committed national and civilizational suicide!

Let's be clear.
In today's media, "fascism" is equivalent to "totalitarianism".
Meaning, a fascist would outlaw / ban / shut down anything he or she did not like.
So, the argument is that Trump is a "fascist" because he would do exactly those things.
Except the evidence is clear....
He has not advocated for this. Ever. Even as President.
You know who has and who does?
The Democrats!
The media!
Etc!
They want to shut down / ban / outlaw anything they don't like!!
"Misinformation"....
"Danger to democracy"...
"Irresponsible"...
"Hate speech"...
In the end, they don't care about anything so high minded...
They just want to shut down that which they don't agree with!!
The fascists today are the intolerant totalitarian leftists who preach tolerance... but only if your views are the same as theirs!!!

Posted in: What presidential campaign? The Electoral College puts most American voters on the sidelines See in context
Anyone arguing against the Electoral College does not understand the reasons for the Electoral College and the very intentional design by the Founding Fathers to ensure that the United States of America was a constitutional republic and NOT a pure democracy.
Well, either they don't understand or they thirst for power and control at any cost.
The Founding Fathers understood that a country built upon the united STATES needed to ensure that elections reflected the country AS A WHOLE. Not just large populations in a few urban centers / urbanized states.
If the Electoral College is dismantled, then the term United STATES Of America no longer has any meaning. States are no longer meaningful. At which point we should just get rid of state boundaries and Senators and all of the structure that was designed to recognize the USA as a country made up of states!

Today there is no such thing as political "news" from any "news" organization or website.

Absolute and toral revisionist history.
These historians sit in their ivory towers and wax eloquent about what should have been done.
Japan would NEVER have surrendered unconditionally without the atomic bombings. Even with them, it was touch and go.
And without an unconditional surrender, the war would not have ended.
And that would have cost FAR more lives!! Including FAR more American lives.
It was absolutely the right decision!!

I think the writer overestimates the current interest in the Olympics, especially amongst Americans, particularly when compared to a few decades ago.
That is not for the lack of efforts by TV networks and advertisers to generate interest. They clearly are trying to ensuring they make money off of the money spent.
However, for the most part, I just don't see much interest, especially among younger people. Particularly in comparison to past generations.

Two comments.
First, the full name of the public official is fully disclosed, whether that official is male or female. Their spouse is a private citizen, even if they are married to a public official. Therefore, I would be interested if the male spouse of a female public official that attended also was referred to similarly, meaning "Husband of XX" or if their full name was used. It would only be if their full name was used that one could argue that this was sexist.
Second, and related, in many of these gatherings, the public official may be known, but their spouse may be unknown. Truthfully, if the name tag denotes who they are, it is helpful for anyone approaching them that doesn't know them. Anyone who has been to formal gatherings of government, business and society leaders know how helpful this can be.
Third, just found it interesting the individual who this comment is attributed to. It seems to be an unusual topic for them to comment on.

Since 2021, there has been:
-- A rise in the underlying mortality rate in multiple countries, above the historical norms, in what is termed an "excess death rate" or "excess mortality rate".
-- An explosion in sudden deaths among young, healthy adults, including athletes.
-- An explosion in myocarditis, including among the young, something never seen before.
-- A rapid increase in aggressive turbo cancers.
Doctors and medical professionals say they can't explain it. But even though they can't explain it, they can say for sure that it isn't the COVID jab. That they know.
Really?!
Just coincidentally, the COVID jab was rolled out in mass quantities in 2021. But, of course, there is absolutely no question it wasn't the jab. And to suggest that might be the jab is considered misinformation and censored accordingly.
Big Pharma makes sure of that. By the monies they give to media in the form of advertising dollars and in the form of monies they give to doctors, hospitals and medical organizations.

Different courses for different horses / different horses for different courses, they say.
And "Japanese rice" is not some uniform, monolithic thing. The rice produced in Japan comes in so many varieties. I mean, there is a huge difference between genmai and koshihikari. And even between koshihikari and hinohikari.
I think it is fair to say that the quality standards for rice produced in Japan are as high or higher than any other country in the world.
But, that said, the rice you would want to eat will very well depend on the food you are eating it with.
I mean, there are some meals / dishes where a basmati or jasmine rice is far more appropriate than a Japonica rice.
There is a reason why there are different types of rice in different countries around the world.
For me, I LOVE a bowl of koshihikari or Akitakomachi by itself fresh out of the rice cooker. Just amazing. But, its not what I want if I am going to be making / eating, say, red beans & rice.
